
Update History Version 1.08Did you know…?Brother products emulate the PostScript language (Brother's emulation is known as BRScript), or use a licensed version of the original Adobe PostScript language.For PostScript printing, Brother develop PPD (Postscript Printer Description) files which work in conjunction with the Postscript driver that is available for your operating system. These PPD files describe the capabilities of the Brother device. For example its resolution capabilities, paper input and output capabilities, etc. How to Download and InstallPlease make a temporary directory on your HDD to save the downloaded file. e.g. C:\bront Start downloading. Once downloading is completed, double click the downloaded file to extract it. For Windows? 2000 Users: Click [Start], [Settings], [Printers] and [Add Printer] icon. Then click on "Next". For Windows? XP Users: Click [Start] and select [Printers and Faxes] and click on [Add a printer]. Then click on "Next". Set "Local printer" or "Network printer" for the target printer and click on "Next". Click on "Next". Select a port and click on "Next". Click on [Have Disk] and type the directory where the extracted files exist OR click on [Browse] and click the drop down menu in the DRIVES field and select the directory where the extracted files exist. Click on "Open". Click on "OK". Select the model name and Manufacture(you can select the language here) and click on "Next". Name your printer and click on "Next". Set "Do not share this printer" or "Share as XXX" and click on "Next". Click on "Yes" or "No" about Test Print. Click on "Finish". NOTE: You will need the original Windows CD-ROM that was supplied with your PC if you wish to install the BR-Script (PostScript) printer driver into your PC. If your computer came pre-installed with Windows, then you may already have a back up files on your HDD called "Cab" files. These cab files contains compressed versions of all the files necessary to install Windows software. Please make sure that you can locate the CD-ROM or the Cab files before proceeding with the installation of the BR-Script (PostScript) driver.
